# Your first pinch bowls

A1DIY sample project brief

This is illustrative starter content, not a tested construction plan. The images are illustrative. Verify dimensions and material suitability before building.

A palm-sized place for rings, keys, or little treasures. Learn a simple pinch technique with a decorative bowl project that does not need a pottery wheel.

## Materials
- Air-dry clay
- Small bowl of water
- Optional acrylic paint and sealer

## Tools
- Work mat
- Small sponge
- Wooden modeling tool

## Project overview
1. Knead a small ball of air-dry clay until it feels even and workable.
2. Press your thumb into the center, keeping a solid base. Rotate the clay and pinch gently around the wall.
3. Smooth the rim with a barely damp sponge. Let it dry completely according to the clay manufacturer.
4. Decorate when fully dry. Use as a trinket bowl only; air-dry clay is not food-safe or watertight.

Use appropriate protective equipment and follow the instructions for your tools and materials.
