Before you begin.

This starter brief is an introduction to the project, not a tested construction plan. Check your dimensions and materials before you make.

The idea, step by step.

  1. Practice a square knot and a gathering knot on short scraps first.
  2. Cut equal lengths of cord and fold them through the ring. Keep the hanging ends even.
  3. Group the cords and tie rows of square knots. Test the spacing around an empty pot as you work.
  4. Gather the base securely. Test close to the floor with an empty lightweight pot before use.
