Before you begin.

This starter brief is an introduction to the project, not a tested construction plan. Check your dimensions and materials before you make.

The idea, step by step.

  1. Knead a small ball of air-dry clay until it feels even and workable.
  2. Press your thumb into the center, keeping a solid base. Rotate the clay and pinch gently around the wall.
  3. Smooth the rim with a barely damp sponge. Let it dry completely according to the clay manufacturer.
  4. Decorate when fully dry. Use as a trinket bowl only; air-dry clay is not food-safe or watertight.
